Dr. Rounak Hussain
M.E., Ph.D
Dr. Rounak Hussain is a distinguished higher education administrator with more than a decade of extensive experience in university administration, institutional governance, regulatory compliance and multidisciplinary academic development across reputed higher educational institutions in India. He began his professional career as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering and driven by a strong passion for academic administration and institutional development, transitioned into the higher education administration sector.
An islander from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Dr. Hussain has held prominent administrative leadership positions at renowned universities and colleges across the states of Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat and Jharkhand. He possesses proven expertise in establishing universities and colleges from inception to fully operational multidisciplinary campuses spanning Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Agriculture, Nursing, Law, Computer Applications and other professional programmes.
Academically, Dr. Hussain holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering along with Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from reputed Tier-1 autonomous institutions affiliated with Anna University, Chennai. He also holds a Diploma in Civil Engineering from Tamil Nadu.
Dr. Hussain has successfully guided institutions through NBA, NAAC, NABH and QCI accreditation and inspection processes with a strong focus on academic governance, quality assurance and institutional excellence. His domain expertise further encompasses ERP implementation, paperless governance, institutional development planning, infrastructure planning, recruitment systems, academic audits, documentation management, Outcome-Based Education (OBE), NEP 2020 implementation and technology-enabled administrative systems.
He also possesses extensive expertise in securing statutory approvals, institutional compliance and regulatory documentation for national bodies including UGC, AICTE, PCI, NCISM, NCH, BCI and NCTE. His professional contributions include drafting and implementing university statutes, ordinances and governance frameworks in alignment with various State Private University Acts.
