Professor Dr.M.Haris is currently an Associate Professor at the School of Arts and Natural Sciences at Joy University, located in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, India. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University through S.T.Hindu College in Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu, and a Master’s degree in Physics and Master of Philosophy degree in Physics from Annamalai University in Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu.
He holds a Ph.D. degree through Crystal Growth Centre, Anna University in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. He has more than 15 years of teaching experience and 26 years of Research experience at various academic institutions, including Scientist ‘D’ in Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, India and Associate Professor of Physics at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Coimbatore, India. His areas of focus in research include Semiconductor Crystal Growth, Nanomaterials and Thin Films for Gas sensing applications.
Prof. Dr.M.Haris has achieved significant milestones in his career, including Project Fellow in an UGC project, Japanese Government Scholarship (Monbukagakusho) supported by Ministry of Human Resource Development, New Delhi, India and Japanese Government, Japan for carrying out Research work in Research Insitute of Electronics, Shizuoka University, Hamamatsu, Japan. He served as a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Laboratory for Materials Processing, POSTECH, South Korea and Centre for Condensed Matter Sciences, National Taiwan University, Taipen, Taiwan. He has authored over 60 research articles in reputable journals, including SCI, SCIE, Scopus, and UGC Care List journals. In his supervision 7 students have completed their Ph.D in Physics. He has supervised more than 15 research projects for PG students as part of their curriculum and has guided several Foreign students from Mongolia, Nigeria, Togo, Morocco and Germany through Department of Science and Technology (DST-RTF-DCS), CICS, DST-CV Raman Fellowship programs.
