School of Life and Health Sciences (SOLHS)

Joy University School of Life and Health Sciences (JU-SOLHS) has fields of biotechnology, allied health sciences and nutrition that work towards improving the well-being of individuals and communities. Biotechnology helps us modify and improve the human body in a changing world while allied health sciences complements the fast-evolving field of medicine and improves the quality of patient care. The professionals and leaders who work in these fields channel their knowledge and efforts towards a better tomorrow for all we are proud to play a key role in their development. The comprehensive curriculum is grounded in the fundamentals of the discipline and designed to meet contemporary industry challenges with the advancements and updates in the respective fields. A strong focus on practical application ensures that learning is not restricted to the four walls of a classroom alone. Instead, immersive learning is promoted in the well-equipped labs and facilities. Students at JU-SOLHS are encouraged to explore research as a means of developing a deeper understanding of their disciplines.

  • HSE / CBSE / ICSE / CIE +2 or equivalent with 60% aggregate marks with Biology, Physics, Chemistry and English as mandatory subjects and minimum 50% in every subject
  • Note: Score of Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Zoology / Botany can be considered in case a candidate does not have biology as the subject.

Philosophy

  • At JU-SOLHS students are guided on their academic and professional journeys by experienced faculty members who leverage their knowledge to ensure the best path forward for students for effective delivery of healthcare services which depend largely on the nature of education, training and appropriate orientation towards the community health of all categories of health personnel, and their capacity to function as an integrated team.
  • The Universal Health Coverage goals envisaged by Government of India may not be possible to achieve due to shortage of the skilled human resource. The documented benefits in the healthcare system range from improving access to healthcare services to significant reduction in the cost of care, when the healthcare system moves away from the doctor-centric approach to a multidisciplinary approach.
  • Many examples emphasize the need for skilled allied and healthcare professionals in the system. JU-SOLHS also play a significant role to care for patients with chronic diseases and help to improve their quality of life.
  • With a vision to provide adequate support to the physicians and surgeons and to fill in the gap of skilled technical personnel JU-SOLHS Department of Allied Health Sciences, offers the four year undergraduate B.Sc. degree programmes.
